September 9, 2009 . . . 999. . . I wonder what today will bring, so far sunshine and our weather pattern has changed from an entire summer of fog and cool to an Indian Summer of hot, well, hot for us as we usually stay in the seventies. The occasional week of nineties is very hard on us. Our ride to the ocean yesterday was interesting as the water seemed very calm and the colorless water picks up the colors of the sky which were baby blue and light. Sail boats were out with their sails unfurled skimming along enjoying the day, while a few hardy souls were out in what looked like a row boat but I am sure they had a motor on it. You couldn't really see it as the wave action made them look like they were sinking at times. There were no fishing poles showing so I'd say they were out just to enjoy the day. The RV park has been full all summer and soon the folks will be packing up and leaving for their homes. We are always glad to see them come and stay for the summer but we are also glad to wave goodbye as our traffic pattern slows to normal.
Here at home we are sad because we had to say goodbye to Mocha. Pat tried so hard to be compatible with her but she had a sharp mind all her own and refused to lose her mean streak. She is a good puppy but she needs a very strong hand as she is growing fast and has a feisty temper. She would bite the hands that feed her and that needs a lot of time and patience to break her without breaking her spirit. Pat is a dog lover and has had dogs all of her life. She treats and trains them well, but Mocha proved to be much more of a challenge than she felt she could handle. Pat is strong and brave as it took a lot of courage to take the dog back in hopes of finding Mocha her person who can train her to be the good dog we know she can be. A big disappointment for both Pat and me.
So on this September 9, 2009, there is a 1,500 piece jig saw puzzle on my table. A beautiful picture of the sea filled with all of the colorful fish, flora and fauna of the underseas, as well as a beautiful Island with a sunset and waves to make you want to pack your bags and head for an Island vacation anywhere . . . but this gal will be hunting for pieces enjoying the challenge of the hunt while hanging on to my patience. If you are in the neighborhood, come on in, there are plenty of pieces to go around. I'll put the tea pot on and share a cookie or two.
